Track Season

All three boys participated in track this year.  Parker did not want to do track initially, but he is loving it.  He usually places in his events at every meet.  Stockton took on sprinting this year, and for a distance runner, it was a challenge, but he enjoyed it.  Mitch didn't get to go to too many meets because he was busy with travels for all the other activities he is involved in this year.  We had some cold days and warm days (hmm. . .sounds like cross-country/football season).  Here are some shots of them in action.

Science Fair time again

Surprise, surprise, Brigham chose a project that uses fire!!!!  This year he did a "fireproof balloon" project.  Here are some great photos of the experiment.

The air filled balloon popped the fastest after only a few seconds.

This water filled balloon didn't pop at all even after 5 minutes of having the flame under it.

The sand filled balloon actually caught fire, but didn't pop, it just bured a hole for the sand the drop out and then extinguished itself.

Briggs had a great time with this one.  It was amazing what different substances will do to change the character of a balloon.

Honored again. . .

Mitch just keeps that musical ball rolling.  He was selected for the Rocky Mountain College Honors Choir that performed at the Alberta Bair Theater this winter.  They spent a full two days practicing and then performed the second night they sang 5 songs (I think).  There were many kids from Joliet that were chosen for the band and three were chosen for the choir.  Here are some great shots of Mitch.

Mitchell auditioned for the tri-county honor band this year.  He has auditioned in the past and been selected as an alternate, but this year he was selected for the trombone section.  This band is comprised of students from all over our area.  It is audition-only and they travel doing concerts around the area.  This year their big trip will be to Seattle to perform.  Congrats Mitch!!! Way to rock that Senior year of high school.

These are just some of the kids from Joliet that made it into Honor Band.  Our school makes up about 25% of the Honor Band.  We have a wonderful music teacher and an administration that really supports the arts.  Great job guys!

Let Music Swell the Breeze

Here are some highlights from the high school concert this Christmas.  Mitchell did choir, concert band, jazz band and select choir.  Stockton is pursuing his art, so he is only doing jazz band this year.  So glad they are willing to share their talents with us!!

Christmas Present or Past, I Guess

The Ghost of Christmas Past is here to give you glimpse of what you missed because I didn't blog.  It was a quiet affair.  I am only posting a few photos.  Mitch and Stockton had a really boring Christmas because they got mostly clothes.  Parker got a punching bag and the boys got a new Wii since ours bit the dust several months before Christmas.

So, 

If you received our Christmas card this year you are probably thinking I am the biggest slacker in the world!! Either that or that I have suffered some horrible accident that has damaged my fingers to the point where I am no longer able to type.  BECAUSE I told you all to keep up with us on our blog, only to turn around and not blog for about three months.  I have not suffered any horrific accident, nor have we sat at home and done nothing with our lives for three months.  The truth (drum roll. . .):  I have been too lazy/busy to post!!!!!  So, get out your reading glasses, cause we are going to catch up.  There will be many more posts to come in the next 8 weeks since we are coming to the end of Mitchell's high school days and track and baseball are in full swing.  Our lives are full and we relish this time to spend with our boys, albeit on the sidelines of track meets and baseball games.  We love where we live and the fact that our boys are able to participate in so many things.  Here we go. . .
