Ernies' Final Days

Here is a peek at the final days of Ernie the Elf for 2012. . .
Chillin' and taking a bubble bath.
Reading The Other Wise Man to his friends.
Test driving some new reindeer for Santa.
Building an igloo so he feels more at home.
Hiding the remotes from the boys.  We certainly got a lot of work done when he did that-LOL!!
Eating cupcakes and chocolate ganache, naughty elf!!
I wonder who could have trapped the boys in their rooms on Christmas Eve????
Oh, I forgot, we have a naughty elf in our house, he must have done it!!
Finally, Ernie reminds us why we celebrate this time of year.  It is all because a tiny baby was born.  That tiny baby paved the way for us to repent of our sins and return to live with a loving Heavenly Father.  He deserves our praise and worship!!
We would like to thank Ernie for making our holidays a little bit more entertaining this year.  See you next year dude!!!

Here is what Ernie the Elf has been up to lately at our house. . .
Playing a friendly game of scrabble. . .
. . .they really carried out the Christmas theme with their words.
Ernie created his own zipline with a strand of lights.
Here he is taking a ride on the zipline, wheeee!

Ernie made his own Naughty/Nice list

The old "photocopy the butt" trick.  Bad elf!!
Ernie doing his P90 EE (Extreme Elf) workout.
Here Ernie is helping out with the sewing.  Good elf!!
Ernie came down with a bit of a cold.  Poor elf.
That's all for this week's edition of Ernie's Antics.  Stay tuned for another installment next week.

Birthday #11

Brigham turned 11 last month.  Here are a few shots from his special day.

Legos are always a hit.
He wanted a rocket cake, so we decked it out with personalized info about him.
Happy Birthday, Briggs!!!

Parker's First Buck

This was Parker's first year hunting and he bagged a really nice buck in our field.  This is the biggest buck we have taken on our property.  Way to go, dude!!!

Ernie, week Two

Here is the next installment of the Adventures of Ernie the Elf. . .
Enjoying one of the Elf food groups, syrup.
Riding one of the nativity camels, ouch!!
Making snowflakes.
Working on crocheting a hat.
Marking his territory with graffiti on the window.
Making S'mores, my favorite.
Ernie turned our milk red to be more festive, it makes great looking pancakes, but the boys wouldn't drink it-LOL!!
Stay tuned for more Ernie-watch next week.

Mele Kalikimaka. . .

Brigham had his Christmas concert last night.  We are on the tail end of these, only one more year.  He wanted to wear shorts, his surfboard shirt and a grass skirt to the concert.  He was a vacationer.  Here he is in all his glorious garb dancing some sweet hula moves. . .

He also plays in the band, here he is doing his solo.
Way to rock that French Horn, dude!!!

Ernie the (NAUGHTY) Elf

We have had Ernie the Elf sitting in our barn for the last 6 years.  Why I decided to bring him out now, I don't know but, I'm sure he will be lots of fun.  I'm sure you have all heard of the Elf of the Shelf and ours is a little different.  Since our kids are a little more mature than when you would  normally start using the Elf, we have dubbed him the NAUGHY elf.  Here are some of Ernie's antics.  I will post his nighttime naughties in one week increments.  Week One:

Helping decorate the Tree, he thought it was a little bare-tee hee.
Playing with the best winter beverage of all, hot cocoa.
Looking angelic until. . .
. . .we found this on the mirror "Elves Rule, Reindeer drool!
A little reminder for the boys.
Eating all of dad's pistachios, bad elf!
Ernie disappeard one night, this is the note he left. . .
. . .this is where we found him!
Chef Ernie made a menu for us, yummy!!!
Stay tuned for the next week of "Ernie's Antics".

More Football

Parker plays both offense and defense.  He loves to tackle!!!  He is number nine in case you can't tell when his helmet is on.  Here are more shots from the gridiron. . .

Here is Parker during the coin toss when he was captain.

Blocking the biggest kid on the Red Lodge team.

On the hunt to take down the competition.

He loves a good hit!!!!

Parker can't wait for next season when he will be an 8th grader and suit up again.  Good job Parker, you rock the field!!!

Football Fanatic

Parker is our football kid.  This year he played on the 7th and 8th grade teams for the Joliet Middle School.  Here are some shots of Parker in action on the field. . .

The hand-off to Parker

On the line

It takes two defenders to get him down.

Touchdown run.  He had a couple of great touchdowns.

Barely catches this one.

Back to School

Scary that the boys are now old enough that the first day of school is no big deal anymore.  Here is our motley crew on the first day.

Once again, I only got photos of Parker and Brigham at school.

Let's have a great year, guys!!!  Mitch-Senior; Stockton-Sophomore; Parker-7th Grade; Brigham-5th Grade.
