The "Boy" of Summer

Brigham was the only one that played baseball this year.  He had a great time. . .here he is smacking the ball for a double.  He did a fantastic job and had lots of fun with his friends!!!

Archeology at Day Camp

We had an Indiana Jones theme at Day Camp this year.  Here is Brigham being an archeologist and digging for artifacts.  He had a great time.  Mom was on the staff again this year, but the older boys did not come out to help this time.  Briggs and I slept overnight in a small two man tent and actually loved it!!  There are photos out there of mom wearing a chicken hat, which we hope have only surfaced on facebook-LOL!!!

The boys also witnessed the rancher moving his cattle, it was quite a sight!!  Of course, he moved the cows on the day of the overnighter, so we listened to cows and calves bawling all night trying to find each other.

8th Grade Graduation

Stockton is now ready to brave the scary, new world of high school.  I still think that 8th grade graduation is dumb, but apparently it is tradition here, sooo. . .He graduated in between the two flooding incidents this spring, so this post is a little late in coming.  We also have to take into account our crazier-than-average summer.  Be prepared for lots of posts coming your way as I try to catch up!!

Briggs Bridges

Each year our cub scouts "bridge" from one rank to another.  It is a great ceremony where the scouts acutally cross a  bridge and receive their badge.  Here is Brigham with all the other cub scouts at this year's bridging ceremony.  This will be Brigham's last year in cub scouts since he is now a Webelo.  Congrats Briggs on working so hard at scouting!!

Having a birthday is an art!

Stockton turned 15 this month.  He wanted art supplies for his birthday so he could indulge in his favorite hobby.  So, along with the art supplies, we had an artist cake.  Along with his birthday, he recently started driver's ed!

Flying High

It's a bird!  It's a plane!  No, it's Stockton doing the triple jump!!!  Track season is now over for both boys.  I think we had maybe two track meets where we weren't freezing.  They had a great time and did well in their events.  Good job Stockton!

Water, water, everywhere. . .

This is the area below the garage.
 This is the road/river.

Here we go again!  We are flooded!!!  It hasn't reached the house yet, but the river rose so much overnight it is ridiculous.  When we looked last night we couldn't see the river (usually 150 yards from the house), but now it is only 50 yards from the house.  Our road is flooded again, that will be cheap to fix again (heavy on the sarcasm, here).  The forecast is calling for at least 2 more inches of rain.  It basically rained heavily for 2 days straight.  The dog is loving the water, so I guess that is a plus.  We haven't started the ark yet, but it may be happening soon
